The Emaciation Proclamation
By
Lindsay Lohan

Whereas, on the twentieth day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand and five, a proclamation was issued by the Queen of Anorexics, Lindsay Lohan, containing, among other things, the following, to wit:

"My friends, as you all know I have been going through some physical changes to make myself more beautiful, just like one of my drug dealers, Nicole Ritchie. For the last few months I have barely eaten a thing, save the occasional Starbucks Venti Soy Latte or the mini-throw ups that I swallow as I am trying to make myself puke into the toilet. Just like my singing or acting, sticking your finger down your throat is an art.

It's not that hard to lose weight. I should know. At 5'5" and 130lbs I was a major fat ass. But not anymore. For the last several weeks I have kept my weight just below a hundred pounds, and besides my yellow skin, fried hair and decaying teeth, I feel damn good. No, I feel GREAT.

After I saw how good the first cut was of my new movie Herbie: Fully Loaded, I quickly realized that I have an important role to fill in this society. Girls look up to me.

I, Lindsay Lohan, am a role model for fat chicks.

I feel 100% comfortable with this responsibility. I accept it with open arms and a fist full of laxatives.

So with the greatest sense of purpose and resolve, I have written what I call The Emaciation Proclamation - and edict of sorts that fat girls around the world should recite if they want to look as skinny and beautiful as me. It states as follows:

I, (insert name), proclaim that I am a fat ass and will do anything in my power to some day look as emaciated as Lindsay Lohan.

I will not eat unless I am staring Death in the face.

I will snort anything that I can cut with a credit card.

I will sacrifice my big breasts for the greater good of a small waistline.

I will workout and then I will WORKOUT, MOTHERF**KER!

The calories in my sex partners' "Protein Shakes" are not to be counted.

Now, therefore I, Lindsay Lohan, Queen of Anorexics, by virtue of the power in me vested by the great country of Hollywood, proclaim that I will do anything - ANYTHING, BITCHES! --- to make sure that all the fat American girls take one look at me and say to themselves:

"I want to be an Anorexic, too!"

Love & Laxatives,

L. LO

Saying Goodbye

A Fan's Farewell: Steelers fan celebrates 'final road game'

Black-and-gold 'viewing' honors Garfield man who loved his Steelers

Wednesday, July 06, 2005By Ervin Dyer, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

In silk black-and-gold pajamas, velvety black robe and slippers, James Henry Smith is at rest.
His feet are crossed, his pack of cigarettes and a beer by his side. Steelers highlights are playing on a high-definition TV screen nearby. With the TV remote in his hand, leaning back in his recliner, a Steelers blanket across his legs, it's like a game-day Sunday.

Except that it's not.

It was last night at Samuel E. Coston Funeral Home in Lincoln-Lemington, and family and friends were filing in to pay their final respects to Smith, whom they called one of the biggest Steelers fans in the universe.

Smith, 55, of Garfield, had been ill for two years with prostate cancer. He died last Thursday at the VA Medical Center in Oakland.

A week before, his wife, Denise Finn Smith, had called Coston's to ask if something special could be done to celebrate her husband's life. He wanted to be at home, in the living room, surrounded by photos of family and watching football.

For some viewers, the "living room" brightened a somber occasion.
"I saw it and I couldn't even cry," said Mary Jones, of Wilkinsburg, a longtime friend. "People will see him just the way he was. This is such a celebration."

For others, the moment proved too sweet not to shed a tear.

"I couldn't stop crying after looking at the Steeler blanket in his lap," said MaryAnn Nalls, 58, of Friendship, Smith's sister. "He loved football and nobody did [anything] until the game went off. It was just like he was at home."

This viewing was unusual, acknowledged Roland Criswell, Coston's young funeral director. In the past, with the rash of deaths of young men, families sometimes asked that they be laid out in Fubu and Pelle-Pelle, popular hip-hop clothing brands.

And the trend in many communities is to honor thematic requests. For instance, in one town, a well-known cook was laid out in a replica of her kitchen. Viewers were treated to apple pie as they came in.

"But," said Criswell, "I didn't know if I'd be ready to meet this request."
To create the effect, Criswell rented a stage to elevate and isolate the "living room" and then surrounded Smith with his Steelers' cap and fan favorites. A DVD of great Steelers moments looped continuously on the screen. The sacred moans of Mahalia Jackson played softly over the speaker.
...

Why is this too funny?
For some reason, this reminds me of the funeral I wanted to plan for myself [before passing] when I was younger and suffering from illusions of grandeur.

Everything had to be white - the casket, my suit, the flowers the candles. lol! I hadn't decided on all the songs but knew "Don't Cry For Me" by Cece Winans had to be sung. Personal testimonies and poems would be shared about how wonderful a person I was and how much I would be missed. lol! I was even going to write my own eulogy. hehehe! And I thought about creating a highlight reel of my greatest life accomplishments and taping a farewell message for everyone.

In my head, my funeral HAD to be perfect and no one would know what the perfect, fitting funeral would be for me except me. hehehe!! God I was on one back then.

You'll be happy to know that I've come to my senses. Things will be very simple. I will be cremated and there will be no funeral, wake or memorial.

Umm...ok

Sheridan Saved Fiance from Killer Shark
Desperate Housewives star Nicolette Sheridan impressed fiance Niklas Soderblom during their first meeting, when she saved his life by attacking a great white shark which was edging towards him. The actress was admiring Soderblom, then a stranger, surfing in the sea when she observed the shark's fin behind her future love. But the brave 41-year-old risked her life to protect Soderblom from the predator, by racing towards it and punching its face. She says, "Niklas was on a surfboard and there was a huge great white shark that had come over from Catalina. I was doing my daily three-mile swim and I saw this fin and I swam as fast as I could and punched that shark right in the nose, repeatedly. And saved him!"
Call me a scared little B***h or heartless if you like but 'ain't' that much love or humanitarianism in the world that would make me risk life and limb to save anyone from a shark attack. Too bad, so sad. See you on the other side!

TROUBLED PATRIDGE FAMILY STAR AXED FROM RADIO SHOW
Former PARTRIDGE FAMILY child star DANNY BONADUCE has been ditched from his Los Angeles morning radio show after recently undergoing a rehab stint for an ongoing drinking problem.
The ginger-haired actor has co-hosted the breakfast show on Star 98 FM for the past six years, but falling ratings prompted station bosses to axe him.
A spokesman for the station says, "We wish him the best. He's an incredible talent."
Just kick a man when he's down.

Rapper Lil' Kim Sentenced to a Year and a Day in Prison
NEW YORK Jul 6, 2005 — Rapper Lil' Kim escaped a stiff prison sentence Wednesday after telling a judge she was a "God-fearing good person" who regretted lying to a federal grand jury about a 2001 shootout outside a Manhattan radio station.

The Grammy winner was sentenced to one year and one day for perjury and conspiracy a term far less than the three years and seven months sought by prosecutors.

U.S. District Judge Gerard Lynch said he had weighed the public perception of sending a young black entertainer to prison far longer than Martha Stewart, who spent five months in prison and remains under house arrest after a false statements conviction.

Lynch suggested Lil' Kim (real name: Kimberly Jones) deserved more time because she had lied about a violent crime, not a white-collar scheme. He also noted that unlike Stewart, she took the witness stand at her trial earlier this year and repeated her lies.

"You sat right next to me there and stared in the eyes of the jurors, and you tried to charm them and you tried to fake them out," Lynch said.

But the judge also credited Lil' Kim with returning to court Wednesday and admitting she had lied all along to protect members of her entourage.

"At the time I thought it was the right thing to do, but I now know it was wrong," she said, her voice breaking.

Lil' Kim said she wanted to "take complete blame" for the actions of her assistant, Monique Dopwell, who's awaiting sentencing for the same crimes.

She also asked the judge "to consider my entire life's work and not just the days in the grand jury and on the witness stand in the courtroom. I'm a God-fearing, good person."
Lil' Kim, who was ordered to report to prison Sept. 19, left the courthouse without speaking to reporters.

Some fans who showed up outside said they were relieved that the sentence wasn't harsher.
"I'm just excited 'cause it's not that long," said Alfredo Borbon, 22, a waiter who wore a pair of boots with the rapper's name on them. "We can wait; us fans can wait that long."
Poor Kimmie! I really thought she was going to get more time. Martha's career rebounded wonderfully after her jail stint...let's see if the same thing goes for Lil Kim.

Angelina Jolie Adopting Ethiopian Girl
ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia -
Angelina Jolie is adopting an orphaned Ethiopian baby girl.

Jolie visited the Horn of Africa nation last week to file her adoption request, accompanied by Pitt and her 3-year-old son, Maddox, whom she adopted in Cambodia, an official said Wednesday.
I'm starting wonder, is there's something wrong with the orphans in the US? Is Angelina privy to some info we're not?

Friends, fans mourn soul balladeer Vandross
The crowds outside the Manhattan funeral chapel stretched a block long for the first of two days of public visitation.

Many fans shed tears. Others sang his hit, "Power of Love," while waiting their turn to file into the chapel.

Nancy Marble came with two of her friends from Boston and were first in line outside the chapel at 6 a.m. (1000 GMT) for the 4 p.m. (2000 GMT) opening of the chapel to the public.
Now that's just a damn shame. Who stands outside for 10 hours to see a dead body? You sound like a fool admitting such fanatic behavior. People are really over the top: crying and carrying on over someone they don't know.

Who's That Guy?

All week the question who's that guy? has been ringing in my head. When I look in the mirror I see my face but I don't recognize the eyes. There's so much pain, hurt, humiliation, hopelessness, despair and sadness reflecting from those eyes. Those eyes offer just a small glimpse into the soul of a man in turmoil.

What happened? I ask myself. Not long ago I believed I was destined for many great things. My faith in God was strong and I was learning how to 'let go, let God.' Things were far from perfect. In fact, I was running into problem after problem. And spiritually there was always something foreboding nagging at my heart - constantly leaving me feeling uneasy - like something devastating was going to happen to me. However, I ignored those negative thoughts (or at least tried to...) and continued to push ahead until...

Many congratulations to Venus Williams for pulling off a stunning victory this weekend becoming the '05 Wimbledon Champion.

-- We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers'
Cause we are the champions - of the world - Queen

The last few years for Venus have been rough. Injuries, successive losses to Serena in Grand Slam finals and the death of her sister had taken there toll on her mentally and it showed in her game. Many analyst excitedly touted her demise; and moreover, took every opportunity given to bash her form, technique, coach, off-court interests, attitude and anything else they could think of.

I am truly inspired by her grit, determination and perseverance. When all the cards were stacked against her she refused to accept defeat.
Postmatch Interview Excerpts:

Q. Does this win have special meaning to you?
VENUS WILLIAMS: I think, for sure, it has special meaning. I was the 14th seed. I wasn't supposed to win. I guess whoever put a bet on me really came in good on that, at the beginning of the tournament. But I always bet on myself.

Q. Did you know you would win a fifth Grand Slam title? Were there ever any doubts in your mind over the past two years?
VENUS WILLIAMS: Oh, no. I knew my destiny was to be in the winner's circle. There were times along the way where I didn't make it there. But I felt my destiny was definitely to win big titles, win lots of titles.

What's your destiny? Are you fighting to make it a reality even though the odds may be against you?
