Couldn't Resist The Temptation

Last week, it was all about cake and ice cream. I ODed on the double chocolate cake I buy from 7-11 on Sunday. It started making me feel nauseous. I've now moved onto to pie.

I couldn't resist this tasty treat while shopping at TJ's yesterday. I downed this bad baby in about 20 minutes.

An older gent struck up conversation with me while we perused the snack shelves. He launched into a biting attack on the ills of consuming diet beverages and it adverse effects on the body. I was provided graphic details including hearing a tale of a woman who suffered a heart attack while driving after consuming copious amounts of diet cola.

After warning me of the dangers of diet beverages, he asked me to guess his age. Leaning on the side of caution, I lowballed him and guessed 58 though I suspected he was in his early 60s. He was actually 67. OG shared with me that he's a former boxer then asked me to poke his abdomen with my index finger to see how tight his abs were. It was pretty comical. So he then shared one of his health tips with me. He drinks 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar mixed in water everyday. According to him it helps cleanse his blood. Anyone ever heard that before?

OG gave me card. He trains boxers at a nearby boxing gym and his prices are crazy low. He charges 20 dollars an hour for a training session. I may give it try.

Modern Black History Moments

Su.per B.o.wl XLI - L.ov.ie Smith & T.on.y D.un.gy - the first black head coaches to advance to the SB and vy for the championship title.

To.ny Du.ngy - first black coach to win the SB.

Now, that the Colts have been crowned SB champions the NFL season is one week removed from being officially over. As sad as I am to see the NFL season end I am very proud to have witnessed a modern moment in history - the crowning of the first black head coach as SB champ. It was a great thing to see.

I've been a fan of Tony Ds since his days as head coach in Tampa Bay. When he was unceremoniously dismissed from his head coaching job in TB for not being able to win the big game I was hoping retribution for him would include winning the SB one day. Thankfully, that day finally arrived.

Congrats to Tony for showing us all how to endure the hard times, persevere through the tough loses and harsh criticisms and how to win with class. He proves that good guys can finish first.

SB XLI was a very entertaining roller coaster ride. Unlike most SB's I can recall, the action was fast and furious from beginning to end. The game featured an opening kickoff return for a TD, numerous fumbles and several INTs. The rainy Floridian weather played a major factor in the game and the Colts was the team that handled the elements better.

Congrats to the Colts and Manning for the getting the monkey off their backs.

Prince's halftime show stage.

I thought Prince rocked the halftime show. I waited with bated breath for him to sing Purple Rain once his performance began. I got a little worried that my wish wouldn't come to fruition once he launched into his 3rd song. In the end, he pulled through for me.

Mo.to.rola held a dance competition to win SB tickets. Take a peek at the footage. Its good for a couple chuckles.

Getting My Kicks Pt. II

Another scene from D.i.rt. The show is so creative they decided to do a Su.ge Kn.igh.t/T.u.pac did his manager/label owner murder him storyline. Gosh, they're clever aren't they? Anyhoo, this go 'round we have W.ayn.e B.r.ady playing a henchmen for the SK character on the show. Too funny to me.

Getting My Kicks

I had to share that clip of R.i.ck Fo.x on D.irt that cracks me up. I fall out every time he jabs the other actor in the chest with this fingers.
