Yea, I have made a triumphant return to the GYM. Thank god. My gut was getting out of control. You know you have a weight problem when your underwear starts digging into your skin. Yep. That's what happened to me. That's when I finally hit rock bottom and had to have an intervention with myself. "Enough is enough. Have you no shame? Are you gonna let these delicious treats be the death of you? What happened to that vow you made to never get fat? Huh? Huh? Huh?" I smacked myself around a bit and demanded that action be taken. Demanded that I call for help. "You can't do it alone. You've tried it your way Shawn. Let the professionals help you." So, I called for help and fortunately ended up with a decent rate of 29.99/mo with no initiation fee.
Man, I had no idea how poor my conditioning had become. It's been 3 weeks and I am still worn out every day I leave the gym. And let's not talk about how much flexibility I've lost.
I can't workout without having music (of my choice) playing in my ears to hold my attention. I was forced to step further into the new millennium with the purchase of an mp3 player. I never thought that would happen. After a very intense 2-day online search I finally found something to my liking. A 2GB Sa.ndi.isk S.an.sa player. Now, if I can only convince myself to finally buy a digital camera.
Can you believe I am 18lbs overweight? Or, over the weight I think I should be? It's crazy. I have a lot of work to do. Thus far, I've only lost 1 lb. One friggin' pound. How's that for motivation to keep going to the gym? I seriously thought I would have lost 2 lbs after week one. Not 1 lb after 2+ weeks. Hmmph! I see this weight loss battle is going to be an all out war.

Well, I'll Be..
1. They rescheduled last week's canceled audition for this past Tuesday evening and I'll be doggone, I didn't get the part. I just knew I had it in the bag. I am not gon' lie either, I am miffed. As much as I love doing my voice over work on the animated show I feel long overdue for an "on-camera" role. Sigh!
2. I had a 2-minute standoff in the parking lot at Best Buy over the weekend. I tried pulling into a parking stall only to discover a wayward cart in my way. I immediately backed out of the space with the intent to back up enough to pull into another stall. Guess what happened? The idiot driver behind me wouldn't cooperate. What a fucking moron. As I am trying to back up about 2 parking stall lengths this fool of a driver pulls up behind me and sits idle. I motion with my hand for him to back up. That doesn't work. I motioned with my hand for him to back up then point towards myself then to a stall to our right, what does he do? Turns on his left blinker. I repeat my motion "back up-towards me-to car rightside stall" he doesn't move. We're at am impasse. He wants the stall on the left side a car length head of where I am but can't get around me. I want the car stall directly next to him. Again, I repeat the motioning. What does he do finally? He pulls into the stall where I wanted to park. Fucking dick!
3. I watched Shrek 2 yesterday to prepare for the new Shrek movie and it was much more I remember. When I saw it at the theaters I was not moved. I left feeling extremely disappointed. Perhaps, my expectations were a bit too high at the time.
I also attempted to watch a movie called The Fountain. 50 minutes in, I had to turn that crap off. The story was going nowhere fast. It was painful to watch.
Has anyone seen Stomp the Yard? I watched that vid over the weekend and felt a bit cheated. Visually, they engaged the audience with the dancing and camera tricks but it seems the story could have had a few more complexities. I was left wanting. Now I am left wondering when the next great black film will hit screens? Maybe my memory is just too short but the last few black films I have seen have been watered down, paint by the numbers fluff. I am open to suggestions. If you've seen a great black film recently with a good storyline and good acting let me know.

Today
1. I am tired of the lying ass Daddy on Ugly Betty. How many more secrets does he have?
2. Those bastards canceled my audition yesterday. Booo!!! Can you believe it? I kept telling myself all day "yea, I am going to get this job. I can't wait for the audition to get here." There excuse was "the producers left the project."
3. I hate people that offer to help you do anything then make you feel like you're bothering them when ask them to live up to their word.
4. What a terrible NBA playoff game that was last night.
5. Yesterday the cashier at Best Buy asked me if i'd get upset if she called me "peaches." She was really nice about it. We both laughed when I told her "no, that wouldn't be a good idea."
6. I am seriously gaining weight. :-( I am not happy about it BUT I can't make myself seriously commit to working out to aid in slimming down. I guess I haven't hit rock bottom yet.
