Hip-hop star LUDACRIS has decided to ditch his stage name - but only when he's starring in movies.

The AREA CODES rapper, real name CHRISTOPHER BRIDGES, is excitedly preparing for the release of his films CRASH and HUSTLE + FLOW, and while he's promoting them he wants to discard his hip-hop moniker.

He says, "I don't ever want anyone to look at me as Ludacris on film. So it's Chris Bridges, man, this is who I am."
